convict surgeonfish

acanthurus triostegus

Moderate This fish is considered a moderately difficult one. Read well into how to care for this fish and which tank mates it needs, so you can take good care of it. This fish doesn't take pleasure in swimming in smaller aquariums, it needs at least 750 liter to feel good. Keep your salinity within 1.021-1.025 (at 25°C) and temperature between 24-27°C. The Convict Surgeonfish has a refined taste, you can make it happy with artemia, banana, big frozen food, flakes, krill, lettuce, mysis, nori, seaweed and zooplankton.

No corals for the Convict Surgeonfish. Your carefully maintained corals should be safe with this fish in your tank, because it is considered reefsafe.

We consider the Convict Surgeonfish to be a semi-aggressive fish. Be careful when introducing it to your less (or more) aggressive fish. It is, however, not a fish that will be the terror of your tank.
