Expert only To take on the care for this fish you have to know the ropes. We think it is only for experts, so don't take this task on lightly. This fish doesn't take pleasure in swimming in smaller aquariums, it needs at least 1000 liter to feel good. Keep your salinity within 1.022-1.025 (at 25°C) and temperature between 23-26°C. The Jackknife Fish likes to eat artemia, cyclops, krill, mysis and zooplankton.
This fish is reefsafe with caution. There is a risk involved in introducing it to your corals. Read about the experiences of other hobbyists and make up your own mind about taking that risk. Don't say we didn't warn you!
This fish is peaceful, which means it probably won't attack other fishes. Alas, a lot of peaceful fish do get easily harassed by other, bigger and more aggressive fish. Keep this in mind when mixing different types of fish. Having a lot of hiding places might help in the process.
