Expert only To take on the care for this fish you have to know the ropes. We think it is only for experts, so don't take this task on lightly. This fish doesn't take pleasure in swimming in smaller aquariums, it needs at least 750 liter to feel good. Keep your salinity within 1.022-1.025 (at 25°C) and temperature between 24-27°C. It seems the Moorish Idol is a picky eater, it only eats clam meat, coral polyps and seaweed.

This fish is peaceful, which means it probably won't attack other fishes. Alas, a lot of peaceful fish do get easily harassed by other, bigger and more aggressive fish. Keep this in mind when mixing different types of fish. Having a lot of hiding places might help in the process.
